The accident happened on a stretch of US-280 eastbound near milepost 8.8 at Hugh Daniel Drive and was first reported at 4:58 p.m.
Evening commuters were told to expect significant delays.
The scene is currently expected to clear at 5:41 p.m.
All lanes remained opened as of 5:28 p.m.
