News: Man killed at construction site on I-59 after vehicle hits him

BESSEMER, AL – A construction worker was killed at a work site after a drunk driver struck him yesterday, WBRC 6 reports.

A man driving a 2012 Jeep Patriot was traveling on I-59 at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday when he drove through barriers marking a construction site and hit an employee. The employee died from his injuries. The driver, who fled the scene, was later taken into custody and charged with a DUI and reckless murder. The incident occurred at mile marker 112.

This crash is currently being investigated by Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
