News: Man killed in single-car accident in Calera

CALERA, AL – A driver died after his vehicle fell from the I-65 overpass onto train tracks, where he was struck by a train today, CBS 42 reports.

The man was driving on northbound I-65 at about 9:46 a.m. today when for unknown reasons his truck departed from the bridge and landed on railroad tracks below. He was then hit by an oncoming train. The man, a 38-year-old from Clanton, died at the scene of the wreck. The accident took place at I-65 and Highway 22.

Further information about the crash is currently unavailable as the City of Calera Police Department continues to investigate.
