News: Pleasant Grove Police officer injured in car wreck

BIRMINGHAM, AL – A police officer from the Pleasant Grove Police Department suffered severe injuries after he lost control of his car in a chase this morning, CBS 42 reports.

Pleasant Grove Police officers were in pursuit of a suspect driving a stolen car through the city of Birmingham when one officer’s car struck a telephone pole and rolled into a nearby ravine  at the corner of Old Mulga Loop Road and Birmingport Road.

The officer was hospitalized but is now in a stable state.

Police caught and arrested the driver of the stolen vehicle.
