News: Toddler killed in Etowah Co. crash
ETOWAH COUNTY, AL – A car traveling on I-59 near Attalla collided with a tractor-trailer, killing one child and injuring a driver on Friday, WDHN reports.
At around 9:50 a.m., a woman driving a 2010 Toyota Camry swerved over the centerline of I-59 near Alabama 77 and crashed into a 2020 Kenworth tractor-trailer. The driver in the Toyota and a small child passenger were then ejected from the vehicle.
The child suffered fatal injuries in the crash, the driver was hospitalized in unknown condition. The Alabama Enforcement Agency says both occupants were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
No one else was injured after the crash. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is currently investigating the case.
