News: Tuscaloosa man killed in car accident near Stillman College

TUSCALOOSA, AL – A man has died after being fatally struck by a car in West Tuscaloosa on Wednesday night, CBS 42 reports.

The 33-year-old victim was struck while he stood in the roadway of 15th Street near 33rd Avenue at 8:15 p.m. that evening. Emergency responders took him to a nearby hospital, where he passed away early Thursday morning.

The driver told police that he had attempted to swerve out of the way but was unable to. No criminal charges are expected.

This case is being investigated by the Tuscaloosa Police Department.
