Woman dies in two-vehicle collision in southwest Jefferson County

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — A woman was killed Tuesday morning in a head-on collision that also injured two people in McCalla, according to WBRC.

Deputies responded to the accident in the 6500 block of Old Tuscaloosa Road near the McAshan Ridge Road intersection at around 7:00 a.m.

A woman in one of the two sedans involved died at the scene.

A man and a woman in the second sedan were transported by ambulance to a hospital with injuries considered non-life-threatening.

It is not yet immediately clear what led up to the crash.

Detectives with Jefferson County were called to the scene to conduct an investigation.
